The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is the independent regulatory body for the electricity sector in Nigeria. Established by the Electric Power Sector Reform Act of 2005, NERC regulates the generation, transmission, distribution, and trading of electricity. The commission sets tariffs, issues licenses, establishes operating codes and standards, and protects consumer rights in the electricity market.
